Exciting News for Two Sisters Paint Palette – New Ideas, New Locations, Guest Instructors!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated you all on my status and upcoming classes.  I have some exciting news to share and some fun new projects you will want to consider.  For the first bit of good news — I’m happy to announce that Two Sisters Paint Palette will be collaborating with Lake Lifestyle in Clear Lake. Lake Lifestyle is a unique store where you can find a little something for your home, bath, a baby, or yourself!   It’s centrally located on Main Street in the heart of the lake shopping experience.  Lake Lifestyle is not only fun shopping, but it’s also an experience. One that includes make and take workshops as well as shopping.

Along with the addition of classes at Lake Lifestyle, Two Sisters Paint Palette will be adding guest instructors over the next several months.  For those of you who want to learn new techniques with different mediums, now is your chance.  Two Sisters Paint Palette is happy to announce, Misty Palek will be hosting watercolor on wood classes, as well as teaching several of the Two Sisters acrylic sessions during December.  Watch the Facebook page for events!

The Lake Lifestyle class schedule and samples are as follows:  We have a line-up we think you will enjoy.  We’ll be painting trays, world globes, and lake-inspired barn quilts.  If you’re interested in registering, Kelli at Lake Lifestyle will be handling the registration.  Contact her at kelli@lakelifestyle.com, or by telephone at 641-357-0068.  Our class lineup is as follows:

Summertime Where the Living is Easy – Summer Events

Welcome Porch Sign Workshop

Hey all, it’s Summer and it’s time to think about porch styling.  Porch styling is a thing you know.  Whether your entrance is a spacious area where you relax and entertain, or a tiny space or stoop, there are plenty of design ideas that can be done to make it pretty and welcoming in the spring and summer months, as well as year around.   We have some fun ideas to help you this season.  Check out this beautiful wood Welcome Sign.  It adds an element of sophistication as well as whimsical design to welcome guests to your home.  Please register via the link so that all materials can be prepped in advance. https://2sisterspaint.eventsmart.com/?p=950

Barn Quilt Workshop

For all my Clear Lake friends, this class will be held at Knoer Lodge.

Have a great little shed, cabin, barn, or outbuilding?  If so, we have the ever-popular barn quilt.  This 2×2 wood barn quilt is perfect for your space.  Not too big and not too small, it packs a punch of outdoor styling!  This is a two and half hour workshop where we provide all that you need to create this masterpiece.  There are over 12 patterns and a multitude of exterior paint colors ready for you to work your magic.  Follow the link for registration!https://2sisterspaint.eventsmart.com/?p=927

Garden Peace Pole Workshop

Garden styling is also a thing!!  Two Sisters Paint Palette is holding the garden peace pole workshop on July 20 at Reiman Gardens and will have another workshop in early August at the Slater Log cabin.  Peace poles are decorative art poles for your garden. The patterns are hand-drawn by DeDee and as with all vinyl peace poles, they have been patterned after the original hand-painted, wood-burned, decorative wood poles.  We have over 8 peace pole patterns from which to choose or freehand yours for the perfect compliment to your garden or outdoor space.  Ours are long lasting and maintenance free.  Before you leave the workshop, you’ll receive “care and planting” instructions for your newly painted pole.   If you’re interested in the Reiman Gardens workshop, see their website and select the Events tab.  For the workshop hosted by Two Sisters Paint Palette, follow the link to register.https://2sisterspaint.eventsmart.com/?p=942

Flower Pot Workshop

Now that we’re talking gardens, how about enrolling in our flower pot class?  We’ll be hand-painting black 12-inch vinyl flower pots.  As with the peace poles, you will have several patterns from which to choose, or create your own!  Either way, you’ll take home the perfect pot to plant your inside or outside plants or flowers.  In addition to the large pot, we’ll do a small clay pot with paint and stamps!  Follow the link for registration. https://2sisterspaint.eventsmart.com/?p=945.

Open Paint Night

It’s time to clean out the studio!

It’s time to clean out the studio! Join Two Sisters Paint Palette for a fun evening of painting where you will have several project options to choose from. There will be barn boards, door hangers, canvas painting, and porch signs. Customize all your colors and choose from many pattern options. Bring your BFF, your favorite drink and a snack and get ready to paint!

This event is first come, first served.  Not all pattern options are shown here as this is just representative of the available projects. No holds on materials!  Follow the link for registration details.https://2sisterspaint.eventsmart.com/?p=943

Spring and Summer Calendar

Hey all, I hope you’re enjoying these first few real days of Spring. I know I am! I’m busy putting together my calendar of events for the next few months, and I’m looking forward to some new ideas and projects. With Spring and Summer just on the horizon, it’s a great time to consider some new ideas for your home, porch, and garden. If you’re like me, it’s time to plant the flowers and garden and style your porch for a new and exciting season. If so, we have just the lineup you may be hoping for.

This Spring and Summer we’re bringing back the peace pole, and we will have new and easier designs. So we’re taking a step back and drawing larger designs that cover more of the pole, and that will be less time-consuming to paint. We’ll still have our other 8 patterns, but I’m excited about the “Happy Camper,” “Fresh Herb,” and “Nothing But Succulents” poles. There’s even a “Tall Corn State” pole. So watch for these classes and sign up today. Slater’s Garden Club is getting a specially designed pole for their members, and Two Sisters Paint Palette will also be teaching two Peace Pole classes at Reiman Gardens this summer and again in the Fall. In addition to new designs and new locations, we’re also designing a special pole for “Team Lexi” (follow on Facebook) for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Some other fun projects include the Barn Quilt Workshop, Flowers and Psalms class, the Patriotic Porch Sign event, and join us for your very own Funky Sheep class. I’m also planning a painting camp this summer for children 5 – 10 years of age. Prerequisite is a sack lunch and 2.5 hours of free time. During the camp, children will be allowed to choose one of two paintings and play a few painting games. Watch for dates and times.

Two Sisters Paint Palette will also be hosting an open paint night to help me move my remaining inventory. Registration is required, but it will be first come, first served for the painting projects. There will be several different projects available.

If you have a special event and would like to host a painting class, contact me for details. I’m all about the private event, including children’s parties, team building events, church groups, and just about any reason you want to get together with friends and paint!

Remember, you must pre-register for all classes so that we can adequately prepare materials and supplies and as always — happy painting!

2019 Newsletter-What’s New?

Ringing in 2019

To all of our loyal friends, followers, fellow painters, and avid crafters — Two Sisters Paint Palette has a great line-up for Spring.  Of all days to sit down and put our schedule together we see a competitor also has a few of the same ideas.  Not to worry, there’s plenty of room for all of us, as we all bring a unique twist to the paint and sip scene.  At Two Sisters Paint Palette we pride ourselves in bringing a fun, creative, and productive environment to all of our classes and workshops.

This year we’re looking forward to bringing more specialized, larger projects into the classroom.   Our biggest addition is the 4ft x 4ft barn quilt workshop, complete with 6-8 patterns from which to choose.  This will be a great opportunity to paint your own barn quilt that will suitable for hanging outside.

We’re also adding another window class that will surely bring a beacon of spring in an otherwise dreary winter.  The vintage window paintings will include a variety of spring flowers and welcome statements.  As with all of our classes, you are always free to personalize or change things up to suit you.  Keep in mind when looking at our Spring calendar, many of these ideas will make great Mother’s Day gifts.  The perfect flower arrangement that doesn’t require care and watering!

Back by popular demand is the four-foot garden peace post.  In addition to the 10 patterns we currently have available, this season we will be adding new patterns that will include “the happy camper”, “fishing is life”, “the tall corn state”, and “Independence Day”.  As a reminder, the garden peace pole classes will begin in late April as we need some warmer temps to prep the poles.  So keep you fingers crossed for a short winter!  We’re also looking into selling peace post kits this Spring and Summer.  It will be a great alternative for an at-home craft night, girls night in, mail order, gifts, etc.  Everything you need to create a pole in your own home!  Watch for details.

Another fun idea — we’ll be adding the painted flower pot in May and we’ll team up with a local garden center to help us plant those once we’ve completed them.  It’s going to be a great Spring and Summer, so stay tuned for more fun and creative events.

For a chance to win one free class admission, send the answers to the following questions to our Facebook page @twosisterspaint.

Don’t forget Two Sisters Paint Palette is available for girls’ night out, church events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, work events, etc.  Contact us for pricing.

Ringing in the New Year!

Happy New Year

Here we are at the start of yet another amazing new year!  With temperatures plummeting and a lot of inside time, it’s a great way to contemplate and foster new Two Sisters Paint Palette project ideas for 2018.

My goal for this year is to continue to bring you fun and innovative ideas as well as fun group projects centered around painting and artistic creativity.  It seems when I get one idea — several more are waiting to emerge.   But in addition to my ideas, researching online resources for great possibilities I can turn into group projects is another hobby of mine.   Stay tuned as this year is going to be a lot of fun!  I also welcome your ideas  — so send them my way either through my Facebook page, via email text or Messenger PM.

Old Friends and New Faces Get Creative

It seems as though the wood sign won out in 2017 as the most popular paint class.  This year, I’ll continue to offer various sizes of signs as well as canvas paintings and other creative mediums that fall in the range of  projects I love to do and share.  Most of my projects will remain at the standard $35.00 rate unless they involve additional prep time, material costs, and are classified as a specialty class.  I’m always looking for ways to keep my costs down so that I can deliver inexpensive class options for you.  But f you see an increase in a class price — you’ll know I’m very busy behind the scenes prepping a more complicated project for a smooth class transition.

We will again be painting the beloved peace poles this Spring with a few more pattern options.  We now have patterns for Iowa State, Iowa (soon to add UNI, Drake, and Ballard) as well as a new lake pattern, several garden patterns, and standard welcome patterns.

New Ideas

In early March, I’m also planning on offering a similar project but we will be painting whimsical garden patterns on large clay pots.  Although they may not be these exact patterns — you get the idea.  This is going to be a lot of fun and a great addition to your garden or porch!

Fence Post Fish Art

In April, Two Sisters will offer the Fence Post Fish class that was such a hit in Clear Lake last year.  If you have a lake house or retreat, you won’t want to miss this!

These are just a few ideas for the new year, with additional class ideas presented to you as they materialize!  Make sure you follow me on Facebook for the latest in class options (@twosisterspaint).

Loyalty Cards and Contests

Once again I’ll be offering the Two Sisters Paint Palette Loyalty Punch Card — paint five times and the sixth time is free.  You’ll receive a card when you attend your first class.  Bring it along each time for your punch!  In addition, other offers and contests will be offered for reduced price or free class registrations — stay abreast on the Two Sisters Paint Palette Facebook page.  Also, add a Facebook Review and be entered to win one class entry valued at $35.00.  The review contest is monthly!

Special Events and Services

Don’t forget Two Sisters Paint Palette is happy to help you with your children’s birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, team building, social groups, girls night out, school events, etc.  Please contact me for pricing and details!  Two Sisters Paint Palette also travels, so contact me to “get the show on the road”!
